Ayora, Cofrentes (Valencia)

Ayora is a city of around 6000 inhabitants, capital of the county of Valle de Ayora, locatedin the interior side of the province of Valencia.
Valle de Ayora contains the towns of : Ayora, Cofrentes, Cortes de Pallás, Jarafuel, Jalance, Teresa de Cofrentes and Zarra.
Ayora has a wide extensión of forest tracks crossing the valleys and bordering the mountains., offering many tourist attractions: the Cave of Don Juan, the Ayora Castle, the Parish church of Our Lady of the Ascension, Hermitages, the Iberian town of the Castellar of Meca, Cave paintings (Cave La Vieja), La Hunde and the rivers Cabriel and Júcar. The region contains a rich variety of fauna and flora and resembles a typical landscape of inland Mediterranean zones.

Cofrentes, a small town on the confluence of the Júcar and the Cabriel, is a real treasure in this scenic route. From Cofrentes it is recommended to take a boat trip through the Júcar River to enjoy the spectacular views of nature and life in a mountain range shaped over the centuries

Sociedad Cooperativa Apícola de España in Ayora, Valencia is one of the most important harvesting centers in Europe. Founded in the 80´s, nowadays counts with nearly 200 partners offering high quality honey of different varieties.

Tour

“Honey Tour. Ayora and Cofrentes”
In this tour we will learn about all the varieties and the elaboration processes of honey. Also we will discover all the goods that can be gathered from the hive: honey, bees wax, propolis, brood, venom, pollen, royal jelly, etc
Afterwards we will transfer to the town of Cofrentes where we will visit the old town, dominated by its Castle and viewpoints. We will enjoy a walk around the river Jucar and the small volcan Cerro Agras, the only volcanic outcrop of the area
