Wine and olive oil Tour. Ontinyent (Valencia)

This is one of the most gastronomic tours since we will have the chance to discover and taste different products.
First, we will visit the headquarters of the agri-food cooperative Cooperativa Vinícola Onteniense where we will discover the different phases of the elaboration process by experts of the mill; from the classification of the different types of olives picked up, through the cleaning and depuration of the oil until the tasting of the oil we buy and use during our meals.
After our meeting with olive oil, we will discover another part of the Cooperative where they produce, as well, different wines in traditional tanks. During the tour, we will learn everything about the different systems with which they obtain their reds, whites and roses. We will have the chance to taste the most representative wines of Cooperativa Vinícola Onteniense.
Afterwords, we will enjoy together a guided cultural tour around the old town of Onteniente in order to see the most important monuments, such as the Assumption Church, which has the highest tower bell (71 m.) of the Region of Valencia.
We will finish the tour having a meal together based on traditional gastronomy

Agri-food Cooperative

La Cooperativa Vinícola Onteniense, founded in 1961 counts with about 2.300 associates. They are producers and distributors of several products: wine, olive oil, olives and watermelon.

Destination

The town of Onteniente is about 82 kilometres from the city of Valencia. Its old town has been declared Property of Cultural Interest. Its unique aesthetic is due to the contrast resulting from its stately 18th century mansions and the more modest Valencian buildings from the late 18th century and early 19th century.
