Viver (Castellón)

Viver is a village with population of around 1600, located 70km from the city of Castellón. It belongs to the county of Alt Palancia very popular for its mountains and the contrasts in colours and reliefs that its landscapes offer.
Agriculture is one of the main sources of its economy, specially , the cultivation of olives, nuts, honey and elaboration of olive oil. Viver is called Viver de las Aguas due to the more tan 50 wáter springs and fountains around the village.

This region known as the ‘route of the springs’. The natural area of Sargal offers a very relaxing walk by the river and the chance to discover the archeologic deposits and caves of the Paleolithic.
What makes this region special is the traditional mountain villages,like Viver, untouched by the modernising influence of mass tourism

Agri-food Cooperative

The Agri-food cooperative of Viver is traditional but innovative at the same time. They have concentrated their efforts in producing one of the best quality extra virgin olive oils from the Valencia Region, branded with the name “Lágrima”. In the Agri-food cooperative of Viver take very good care of their olive trees cultivations and use the modern technologies in the process of elaboration of olive oil.

“Discover the olive oil culture in Viver”
With this “Olive oil Tour” we are going to live a day of total immersion in the oil culture in the county of “Alto Palancia”. We will pick our own olives up from the trees and then we´ll deposit them on the olive mill. We will have a guided olive oil tasting and then later we will walk on a relaxing guided tour around the natural area of Sargal, where we will discover and visit the Paleolithic caves. Finally we will enjoy together a delicious mail.
